You may need to select only some of the contents of a field from time to time.
With the mouse, place the cursor in the field and hold the mouse button down while you drag the mouse over the part you want to select.
Alternatively, using the keyboard, place the cursor in the field and hold the Shift key down while you use the right or left arrow key. This will select one character at a time.
You can cancel the selection by clicking somewhere else with the mouse. If you use the keyboard, you can cancel the selection by pressing the up or down arrow once.
