To create a new user for the RoleTailored client, you create a Windows login in the Classic client. You then manage the user in the RoleTailored client.
You do not need to create user logins in SQL Server before you create a Windows login.
Unless you are using the Enhanced Security Model, you do not need to synchronize new Windows logins. For more information, see.
To add users on a computer running Windows Vista with User Account Control enabled, start the Classic client with administrator privileges. Click Start, right-click Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic with Microsoft SQL Server, and then click Run as administrator.
Creating a New Windows Login
To create a new Windows login with the Classic client
Click Start, and then click Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Classic with Microsoft SQL Server.
Verify that you are connected to your database.
On the Tools menu, point to Security, and then click Windows Logins.
In the Windows Logins form, click on a blank line, and then enter the ID of an existing Windows user or group in the ID column.
Use the format DomainName\UserName.
Press TAB to move the cursor to the next line.
If the specified ID is a valid user or group in the Active Directory domain, then the entry is accepted. Otherwise, an error message is displayed.
You can also click the lookup button in the ID column to display current Windows users and groups in the domain.
