Setting Up Repair Status

You use the Repair Status Setup window to set up repair status options that identify the progress of repair and maintenance of service items in service orders. The program requires you to set up at least nine repair status options that identify situations or actions taken when servicing service items.

To Set Up Repair Status:

  1. Open the Repair Status Setup window.

  2. Press F3 to enter a new repair status.

  3. Fill in the Code and Description fields.

  4. In the Service Order Status field, select to which one of the four service order status options (Pending, In Process, Finished or On Hold) you want to link the repair status to. The program fills in the Priority field with the priority of the service order status you have selected.

  5. In the Initial, In Process, Finished, Partly Serviced, Referred, Spare Part Ordered, Spare Part Received, Waiting for Customer and Quote Finished fields, click to insert a check mark (one field only) relevant to the function of the repair status. No two repair status options can be linked to the same function.

  6. In the Posting Allowed field, click to insert a check mark if you want to be able to post service orders including service items with this repair status.

  7. In the Pending Status Allowed field, click to insert a check mark to allow you to manually change the service order status option to the Pending option in service orders including service items with this repair status.

  8. Fill in the In Process Status Allowed, Finished Status Allowed and On Hold Status Allowed fields in the same way.

Repeat steps 2 to 8 for each of the repair status options you want to create.
