For RoleTailored client users, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 uses Windows authentication to control access to databases. With Windows authentication, Windows logins in Microsoft Dynamics NAV are based on Windows users and groups in the current Active Directory domain.
You use the Classic client to:

Create and manage users, roles, and permissions for the RoleTailored client.

Configure your environment with a set of default roles.

Enhance Microsoft Dynamics NAV security by importing additional roles, including one for each profile in the RoleTailored client.

Assign RoleTailored client users to one RoleTailored role.
You then use the RoleTailored client to assign users to the equivalent profile. This aligns users and roles with profiles.
