Using FlowFilters

A FlowFilter limits the contents of the fields that display amounts or quantities that the program calculates from entries in other tables. By using these filters, you can choose to see entries in the other tables, for example, within a certain date interval or with a particular location code.

FlowFilters can be entered in fields that end with the term Filter, such as Date Filter, Global Dimension 1 Filter or Location Filter. These are called FlowFilter fields. Press Shift+F7 or click View, FlowFilter to open a window where you can enter the criteria.

To Use a FlowFilter:

Here is an example of how to use a location filter on an item card.

  1. Open the Item Card window.

  2. On the menu bar, click View, FlowFilter.

  3. Scroll to the line containing the Location Filter in the Field field, click the Filter field, and then click the AssistButton and the Locations window appears.

  4. Select a location in the Locations window and click OK. The location you selected is now displayed in the FlowFilter window.

  5. Click OK to register the location on the item card.

The window will now show the various quantities for this particular location only.

Note that in the lower right corner, the program says FILTER.

When finished, click again on the FlowFilter window and delete the filter you entered next to Location Filter. Click OK.
