This setting allows you to activate a quick search facility. You can search for an entry in any non-editable field by typing a letter or number. You can also type the entire name of the element you are looking for. When you type a letter or number, the Find window opens automatically and the first row that matches what you typed becomes the active row.
If you are using the SQL Server Option, the Find as You Type field will only be available in the Find window if you have set the Allow Find As You Type database property when you created the database or altered the database accordingly. If you have set this database property, you can turn the Find as You Type feature on and off in the Find window.
To change this setting, click Tools, Options and the Options window appears.
When Quick Find is turned off, you can open the Find window by clicking Edit, Find on the menu bar or by clicking Find on the toolbar.
