The Service Order Type table contains codes that identify types of service orders. For example, repair of hardware, repair of software, and so on. You can use service order types to group service orders together for statistical or other purposes.
The Service Order Type Mandatory field determines whether it is mandatory to assign a service order type to a service order before posting.
When you have set up service order types, you can assign them to service orders in the Service Order window.
