It is often necessary to add comments to production order BOM lines. You could, for example, enter a comment, which reminds you that the material need not be picked from a certain inventory as usual for this BOM line. Another comment could contain that the drawing must be checked again for this BOM line.
You can set up such comments in the table Prod. Order BOM Line Comment. You will find it in the Comments window, which you can call from a production BOM by clicking the Component button.
Comments are always created for a certain BOM line. If for example, you click the Component button on a BOM line and then select Comments you can create new comments or view existing comments which always belong exactly to this production BOM line.
Production BOMs have a button for comments in addition to the No. field. If the icon in the button is a horizontal pencil, no comments have been created for this document. If the icon is a vertical pencil with four horizontal lines, there is a comment for the production order BOM line.
