Assigning Activities to Job Journal, Sales or Purchase Lines

Once you have set up phases, tasks and steps for one or several jobs, you can assign job usage and job sales to the activities.

To Assign Activities to Job Journal, Sales or Purchase Lines:

The following example shows how to assign an activity to a line in a job journal.

  1. Open the Job Journal window.

  2. Select a line for the job usage.

  3. Click Functions, Get Phase/Task/Step. The Job Budget (Phase/Task/Step) window for the chosen job appears.

  4. Select the line that matches the job usage you want to post, and then click OK to copy it to the job journal.

  5. The Phase Code, Task Code and Step Code fields from the job budget line that you selected will be copied to the corresponding fields on the job journal line.

There are similar functions for sales invoices and sales credit memos.
