IC G/L Account Table

List of Fields in the Table

You use the IC G/L Account table to define how the account numbers in your chart of accounts correspond to the account numbers of your intercompany partners.

If you are using the Intercompany Postings feature, the program needs to know which accounts to post to. For example, when an IC partner sends you an intercompany line that includes a credit to an IC G/L account, the program uses the IC G/L Account table to determine which account in your chart of accounts to post the credit to.

If you and your IC partners have identical charts of accounts, then you can fill in the IC G/L Account table exactly like your G/L Account table, and map the accounts directly.

If your company's chart of accounts is not the same as your IC partner company's chart of accounts, each company must translate their account numbers into something that the other company can recognize. You and your IC partners should agree on a master chart of accounts that can be used as a common reference. Each partner imports the master into their IC G/L Account table. Then each partner maps the IC G/L accounts to accounts in the chart of accounts.

When you receive an intercompany transaction from one of your IC partners, your partner will have specified account numbers from the master chart of accounts. The program uses the information in the IC G/L Account table to find the corresponding account in your chart of accounts.
