Dimension Value Combinations Window

If you select the Limited option and click the AssistButton with the three dots in the Dimension Combinations window, the Dimension Value Combinations window appears. In this window, you can determine which dimension values within the Limited dimension combination should be blocked from use. This can be useful when a dimension combination is used, but you want to limit which value combinations are allowed when using these two dimensions. For example, you can choose that for your company the dimensions Sales Office and Area can be combined on entries, but only when the sales office selected as a dimension value is physically located in the area specified as the Area dimension value.

The following field is present on the header:

Show Column Name

If you place a check mark in this field, the program will show as column headings the descriptive names you have given dimension values instead of using their codes. This may make the matrix window easier for you to use if you have set up numerical dimension value codes.

The columns in the window display the following information:

Code

This column shows the code for the dimension value on the line.

Name

This column shows the name of the dimension value on the line.

Dimension Values

The dimension values displayed in the rows on the left hand side of the matrix are also represented as dimension value columns.

You can determine how dimension values can be combined by clicking the AssistButton in the matrix cells. The options are:

<Blank>

The dimension value combination is always allowed on entries.

Blocked

The dimension value combination is excluded from use on entries.
