You can copy setup data from an existing company to a new company and from a demonstration company to a new company. This helps you set up a new company quickly.
Your license determines which tables are shown in the Copy Data window. However, only some of the tables present in the Setup Checklist table will be shown. These consist of tables that meet all of the following criteria:
They are common to various companies. The G/L Account table is an example of such a generic table.
They are empty in the Setup Checklist table. This is in order to minimize the risk of overwriting existing data.
They can contain more than one record. For example, the G/L Account table will be present but not the General Ledger Setup table.
You can only copy another company's setup data if your license allows you to use more than one company.
You can only copy a company's generic tables. If you want to copy other tables, do so using Copy and Paste.
