Filling In and Posting FA G/L Journals

The information you enter in a journal is temporary and can be changed as long as it is still in the journal. When you post the journal, the information is transferred to entries in individual accounts.

To Fill In and Post FA G/L Journals:

  1. Open the Fixed Asset G/L Journal window.

  2. Fill in the fields. For Help about a specific field, click the field and press F1.

  3. To post the entries, click Posting, and then click Post. Click Yes in the message box that appears.

  4. If the program finds any errors, you will receive a message. You must then correct the error or errors and click Posting, Post again.

If you have placed a check mark in the Force Doc. Balance field in the General Journal Templates window, the program will also check that the journal balances for each document number.

If you have created multiple journal batches, you can choose to post several or all of them with a single command instead of posting them individually.

Attention

If you have inserted a check mark in the Use Duplication List field, do not use number series on the journal. Leave the Document No. field empty as the number series for FA G/L journal will not match the number series for the FA journal.
