Resolving Contact Field Conflicts That Could Not Be Resolved Automatically

When synchronizing contacts between Outlook and Navision, the following fields may require additional attention: Company Name and Country. When these fields are synchronized from Outlook to Navision and the contents of a field in Outlook cannot be found among the registered values for the corresponding field in Navision, a conflict will occur. Such conflict cannot be resolved automatically and needs to be resolved manually in the Outlook Int. Unresolved Fields window.

When the synchronization process is finished, the Outlook Integration Statistics window appears, displaying the number of conflicts, errors, and warnings that were recorded during the synchronization.

To Resolve Field Conflicts That Could Not Be Resolved Automatically:

  1. In the Outlook Integration Statistics window, click the AssistButton in the No. of Conflicts field. The Conflict Resolution Worksheet appears, allowing you to resolve the conflicts that appeared during synchronization.

  2. Select the record for which you want to resolve the conflict. Click the AssistButton in the No. of Unresolved Fields field for this record. The Outlook Int. Unresolved Fields window appears.

  3. Click the AsisstButton in the Outlook Content field for the field you want to resolve. Depending on your selection, the Countries or Companies window is displayed, showing the countries or companies that are registered in Navision.

  4. Select the new name and click OK. The Field Status field for the corresponding record in the Outlook Int. Unresolved Fields window is changed from Unresolved to Resolved.

  5. In the Conflict Resolution Worksheet window, click the AssistButton in the Action field and select Replace Navision Record for all records that had a field conflict.

  6. Click OK.

If there are other conflicting records with the same Outlook Content, the program will suggest to apply the same field contents to other conflicting records.

To view a complete list of errors, warnings, and conflicts that appeared during synchronization, in the Outlook Integration Statistics window, click the AssistButton in the No. of Errors and Warnings field. The Outlook Integration Error Log window appears, containing the list of errors, warnings, and conflicts. You can also access the Outlook Integration Error Log and Conflict Resolution Worksheet windows and resolve the conflicts that appeared during synchronization from the Salesperson/Purchaser Card by clicking Functions and selecting the option you need.
