The Inbound Purchase Document Line Table

This field contains a unique common item number that the vendor and customer agree upon.

The common item number is normally a standardized item number, for example, a UPC (universal product code) number.

You can use the common item number to identify items in inbound BizTalk documents or to identify items when updating the Navision Item table that is based on inbound BizTalk product catalogs.

If you want to use this number when you trade with a specific BizTalk partner, you must set up your program accordingly. You can do so by selecting the Common Item Number option in the Sales Item Number Type field.
