With Microsoft Dynamics NAV, you can create and manage time sheets for tracking time that is used on jobs or service orders. There are several pages that are associated with time sheets that you can display in both Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client and Microsoft Dynamics NAV SharePoint client. This topic describes how to display and use some of the time sheet pages on a SharePoint site that uses Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework. For complete information about how to use the time sheet application, see the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Help.

Setting Up and Creating Time Sheets

Before you can display time sheets, you must set up time sheets for use and then create one or more time sheets that you can work with. To perform this work, you can use either the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client, or the Microsoft Dynamics NAV SharePoint client. However, for this procedure, we recommend that you use the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client.

To set up and create time sheets

  1. Open the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client.

  2. Set up the time sheet administration and approval.

When you set up a time sheet, you must assign an owner and approver. For this example, you can make yourself both an owner and an approver of time sheets.

For more information, see How to: Set Up Time Sheet Administration and Approval.

  3. Set up the time sheet for use.

For more information, see How to: Set Up Time Sheets.
