Modifying Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Settings

If you change the value of any setting in any service category, you must restart the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server instance for the change to take effect. If you plan to run different types of services on a single Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server computer, it is a good idea to run different services types in separate service instances. For example, if you plan to run both RoleTailored client (Client) and NAS services on a single Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server computer, run the Client services in one server instance and the NAS services in a separate instance. That way, if you want to change one of your NAS services settings, you will not affect Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client users when you have to restart the instance to make the change take effect. It is also a good idea to run different types of Microsoft Dynamics NAV services on a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server computer in different instances for performance reasons.
