This form is used to select an event from Navision. Two concepts are important here:
Business entity: a business entity is a representation of one or more Navision "objects" that correspond more closely to objects in the "real world" - hence the name "business entity". While a "sales order" in Navision is composed from two tables (a table with the header, and a table with the lines) a "sales order business entity" would contain data from both the header table and the lines table. Read more about how this is done in Navision here.
Event: for each business entity in Navision, one or more events are connected. An event is a meaningful name for "something" that happens in the Navision business logic that causes a document, containing the data of a business entity, to be sent to Business Notification. For a sales order, an event could be "Order amount greater than 10,000," and when a sales order is created in Navision with an amount greater than 10,000, this event happens ("is raised"). The same sales order could have other events, for example, "Customer credit limit exceeded."
To select an event:
Select a business entity. Once you have done that, the lists of events is updated to show the events for the selected business entity.
Select an event from the list of events for the selected business entity.
Click OK.
When you have selected a business entity, you can click View fields in business entity to show a (read-only) list of the data fields in the business entity. This can help you decide if you have selected the correct business entity. Later on, these are also the fields that can be merged into the notification message that is automatically sent to subscribers when the event is raised by Navision.
Warning
If you are modifying an existing scheme, all settings (filters, messages, and so on) will be reset to the default value if you change the business entity and/or event. When you are modifying an existing scheme, you will probably always want to review the information in this form, and then click OK without changing anything. If you change something, you will receive a warning before you proceed.
