In client report definition (RDLC) report layouts, only TrueType fonts are supported. If you have a report that uses a font that is not a TrueType font, such as Helvetica, when you transform the report, the font will be changed to Arial. For more information, see Microsoft Typography - TrueType fonts.

NoteNote

The available TrueType fonts for the operating system are listed under the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

To use both Classic report layouts and RDLC report layouts and have the same fonts in both layouts, you must change non-TrueType fonts to TrueType fonts in the Classic report layout. When you create an RDLC layout suggestion or view the RDLC layout for the report, the RDLC report layout then has the same TrueType font as the Classic report layout.

To change a font from a TrueType font

  1. In the Classic client, on the Tools menu, click Object Designer.

  2. In Object Designer, click Report, select the report that you want to modify, and then click Design.
