Ordinary Buttons in Microsoft Dynamics NAV

The ordinary buttons are found in almost all of the windows and dialog boxes in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Sometimes you must use them to answer a question before you can go further in the program. The following list describes these:

Button:

Means:

Yes

You answer yes to a question. For example, that you want the program to do what it has suggested. When you click Yes the window closes and removes the message.

No

You answer no to a question. For example, that you do not want the program to do what it has suggested. When you click No the window closes and removes the message.

OK

When you click OK, you agree that the program execute a command, or that you have read and accepted a message (this does not solve a problem if there is one). By clicking OK, you remove the message and close the window.

Cancel

When you click Cancel, you undo or interrupt an action or task so that it is not executed. When you click Cancel, the window closes.

Stop

When you click Stop, you stop something, for example a batch job. The part of the function that has been performed is saved. When you click Stop, the window closes.

Apply

When you click Apply, you activate your choice in the window but keep the window open so that you can make more choices. Use this button if you want to make different choices and see the results before you finally confirm a choice with the OK button.

Help

When you click Help, the Help text for the window opens.

Options

When you click Options, a new window opens that contains more information that you can select.

Advanced

When you click Advanced, a new window containing a more advanced way of performing the task (found only in a few places) opens.
