You can use this function either by clicking Edit, Delete on the menu bar or by clicking the Delete button on the toolbar.
In contrast to Edit, Clear, where you determine how much of a line you want to delete, Edit, Delete will delete entire records (cards or lines) from tables. This could be a customer on a customer card, a line in a journal, or a G/L account. If you have not selected one or more specific records, the system will delete the current record. When you choose this function you will get a message asking you to confirm the action before the records are deleted.
You can never delete records for which there are open ledger entries or ones with nonzero balances.
You cannot use Edit, Delete to delete databases or companies.
To delete these, click File, Database, Delete or File, Company, Delete.
