Posting Service Credit Memos

When you have created a service credit memo - that is, when you have filled in all the information and made all the necessary modifications - you can post the credit memo. If the program finds some errors or a lack of information on the credit memo while posting, the process will be interrupted by an error message.

To Post Service Credit Memos:

  1. Open the Service Credit Memo window.

  2. Create a service credit memo.

  3. Click Posting, Post. If you want to print the credit memo at the same time as you post, click Posting, Post and Print instead.

You can use the Service Document - Test report to test credit memos before you post them. When you run the report, the program verifies posting dates specified in the document, checks whether there is anything to post, and so on.

You can use the Batch Post Service Cr. Memos batch job to post several service credit memos at a time. This can be an advantage if you have a large number of credit memos that must be posted.

Note

It is important to enter all the necessary information on the credit memos before they are batch posted. Otherwise, it is possible that they will not be posted. When the batch job has finished posting, a message shows how many of the service credit memos have been posted (for example, nine out of 10).
