Get Action Messages Batch Job

You can use this batch job to generate and display action messages for the selected item.

The program then tracks the item to determine whether there has been any direct change to its demand-supply pattern since the last planning. This could be the result of any of the following:

If such a change is detected, the program issues an action message, which alerts the user to the imbalance between supply and demand. The action message proposes an adjustment to the existing plan in order to restore the balance.

To run the batch job from the planning worksheet, click Functions, Get Action Messages, and the batch job request window appears.

You can define what is included in the batch job by setting filters. You can set additional fields on the tab by clicking the Field field, then clicking the AssistButton that appears to the right.

Click the up-arrow at the lower left-hand corner of the window to see the result of the filters you have defined for the table.

Click OK to start the batch job. Then the program displays any relevant orders, along with the action message proposals, in the planning worksheet. The Original Due Date, Due Date, Original Quantity and Quantity fields may also be filled in, depending on the content of the action message.

Now you can decide whether or not to accept the proposed action message.

Note

The program only plans for those items that have the Order Tracking Policy field set to Tracking & Action Msg. on the General tab on the item card.
