Job Calculate WIP Batch Job

You use this batch job to calculate the value of Work In Progress (WIP) on your jobs.

The calculation is based on the WIP Method you have chosen on the individual jobs.

Every time you use this batch job, the program creates WIP entries in connection with the jobs included. You can see the WIP entries for each job in the WIP Entries window.

On each job, you can see the current WIP calculated on the Posting tab on the Job card.

Note

This function only calculates WIP, it does not post WIP to the general ledger. To do so, you must run the Post WIP to G/L batch job when you have calculated the WIP with this function.

You can define what is included in the batch job by setting filters. To do this, in the Field field, press F3, click the AssistButton and then select the relevant fields. You can set filters on any of the fields. If you do not set any filters, the batch job includes all your records.

To filter the information in the batch job, fill in the relevant fields as follows:

Job

Job No.: To calculate WIP for a specific job or a range of jobs, enter the number of that job or range of jobs in this field.

Planning Date Filter: To calculate WIP based on planning lines (schedule and contract) within a certain period of time, enter a date filter for that period in this field. Leave the field blank to include all planning lines in the WIP calculation.

Posting Date Filter: To calculate WIP based on job ledger entries within a certain period of time, enter a date filter for that period in this field. Leave the field blank to include all job ledger entries with a Posting Date equal to or before the Posting Date on the Options tab in the WIP calculation.

Click OK to run the batch job. If you do not want to run the batch job now, click Cancel to close the window.
