Suggest Work/Mach Ctr Std Cost Batch Job

You use the Suggest Work/Mach Ctr Std Cost batch job to create suggestions for changing the costs and cost shares for your standard costs on the work center or machine center card. When the batch job has been completed, you can see the result in the Standard Cost Worksheet window.

This batch job only creates suggestions. It does not implement the suggested changes. If you are satisfied with the suggestions and want to implement them, that is update them on the work/machine center cards and insert them in the Revaluation Journal, you can use the Implement Standard Cost Change batch job. The Suggest Work/Mach Ctr Std Cost batch job is found under Functions in the Standard Cost Worksheet window.

If you want to include more information, you can select additional fields to be included in the batch job. To do this, in the Field field, press F3, click the AssistButton and then select the relevant field(s). You can set filters on any of the fields. If you do not set any filters, the batch job will include all your records.

Click OK to start the batch job. To filter the information in the batch job, fill in the relevant fields as follows:

Work Center

No.: Enter the numbers of the work centers to be included in the batch job. Click the up-arrow in the lower left-hand corner of the window to see the table with the results of the filters you have set for the batch job.

Machine Center

No.: Enter the numbers of the machine centers to be included in the batch job. Click the up-arrow in the lower left-hand corner of the window to see the table with the results of the filters you have set for the batch job.

Options

Standard Cost: Enter the adjustment factor you want to use to update the standard cost. You can also select a rounding method for the new standard cost. Note that you have to fill in the field using a decimal for the percentage increase, for example 1.1.

Indirect Cost %: Enter the adjustment factor you want to use to update the indirect cost %. You can also select a rounding method for the new indirect cost %. Note that you have to fill in the field using a decimal for the percentage increase, for example 1.1.

Overhead Rate: Enter the adjustment factor you want to use to update the overhead rate. You can also select a rounding method for the new overhead rate. Note that you have to fill in the field using a decimal for the percentage increase, for example 1.1.

Note

Once you have run the batch job and want to see the impact on the your production, you can run the Roll Up Standard Cost batch job. This will show you the standard cost changes on work centers, machine centers and production BOMs.
