G/L Consolidation Eliminations Report

This report displays a consolidated trial balance, and it needs to be used only in consolidated companies that have consolidated entries from business units.

When all the financial data from the business units is imported to the consolidated company, the entries involving internal transactions among the individual business units must be eliminated. This is done in a general journal.

The report displays a tentative trial balance, that is, shows the consequences of eliminating the entries by comparing the entries in the consolidated company with the eliminations that have been entered in the general journal that they will be posted from later.

Before a business unit can be included in the report, it must be set up in the Business Unit table and have a check mark in the Consolidate field.

Each account appears on a line by itself (following the structure of the chart of accounts). An account is not shown if all the amounts on the line are 0. The following information is shown for each account:

You can define what will be included in the report by setting filters. You can set additional fields on the tab by clicking the Field field, then clicking the AssistButton that appears to the right. You can also determine what is shown in the report by filling in the fields on the Options tab. Fill in the fields as follows:

G/L Account

No.: Select the G/L accounts to be included in the report. To see the existing G/L account numbers, click the Filter field and then click the AssistButton that appears to the right.

Global Dimension 1 Filter: Enter the dimension values to be included in the report.

Global Dimension 2 Filter: Enter the dimension values to be included in the report.

Click the up-arrow at the lower left-hand corner of the window to see the result of the filters you have defined for the table.

Options

Starting Date: Enter the first date in the period from which posted entries in the consolidated company will be shown.

Ending Date: Enter the last date in the period from which posted entries in the consolidated company will be shown.

Business Unit Code: Select the business units to be included in the report. To see the existing business unit codes, click the Filter field and then click the AssistButton that appears to the right.

Journal Template Name: Select the journal template that will be used for the unposted eliminations. To see the existing journal template names, click the Filter field and then click the AssistButton that appears to the right.

Journal Batch: Select the journal batch that will be used for the unposted eliminations. To see the existing journal batches, click the Filter field and then click the AssistButton that appears to the right.

Show: Choose whether the amounts are shown as net changes or as balances as of the current date.

Click the Print button to print out the report. If you want to see the report on the screen before printing, click the Preview button. If you do not want to print the report now, click Cancel to close the window.
