Filling In Recurring Journals

If you post certain transactions frequently with few or no changes, it is an advantage to use recurring journals. A recurring journal is a general journal with special fields for managing recurring transactions.

To Fill In Recurring Journals:

  1. Open the Recurring General Journal window.

  2. Fill in the Recurring Method, Recurring Frequency, Posting Date, Document No., Account Type, Account No., Description and Amount fields on a journal line for a recurring transaction. For Help about any other field, click the field and press F1.

  3. Click Posting, Post to post the journal.

Now the dates are different from the dates you entered. The changes are made according to the formula in the Recurring Frequency field. On lines where the Recurring Method field contains Fixed, the amount is unchanged. On lines with Reversing Variable, the amount has been deleted.
